PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH

The FECDC youth programs are for males and females between the ages of 13-17. Our primary programmatic initiatives focus on the following areas to enhance their academic, financial, and physical well-being:
  • Scholarship Preparations
  • Financial Literacy
  • Dress for Success
  • Healthcare
Poverty and homelessness is a pervasive condition with many students, and the only nutritional meal they get is when they are in school. Therefore, we diligently work to develop partnerships with organizations that provide nutritional support services to youth during summer and winter break to help ensure they are properly fed.

OUTREACH PROGRAMS FOR SENIOR CITIZENS

Growing older doesn’t mean getting wiser when it comes to financial decision making. At an age when senior citizens have worked most of their lives and are ready to enjoy the fruits of their labor in retirement, they find themselves responsible for managing their retirement assets and distributions, as well as making complicated decisions on Medicare and Social Security. They could also face a decline in their mental performance and financial literacy, making them excellent targets for scammers and others who would take advantage of them. Therefore, our programs for senior citizens address these issues by providing:

  • Presentations/workshops on financial literacy in an easily understood format conducive to senior adult learning styles.
  • Training on programs that enhance the quality of living, such as healthcare and housing.
